What you'll do
Waiheke Tour Jump on board our comfortable, air-conditioned shuttle for a 20-minute waiheke highlights tour of the island Lonely Planet called ‘the playground of the gods’ and NY Times declared a ‘must see’. You’ll see many of the island’s golden beaches, spy charming olive groves, world-class vineyards and multi-million-dollar properties – all en route to EcoZip HQ.
Vineyard Cruise
Our most shallow gradient, the first zipline of the experience is a gentle introduction to ziplining, and delivers the first of the spectacular views. Soar above a working vineyard that is home to nearly 2,000 vines of Syrah. If you’re zipping alongside a friend, take advantage of our twin cables to take photos of each other in-flight – with the background of Auckland’s skyline and islands in the background.
City View
The tempo increases as you zip higher and faster above a spectacular view of Auckland City. 200m long, you’ll fly through, then above, the ancient forest canopy – designated a site of environmental significance. Relax and enjoy the ride, or ‘do the bomb’ and race your fellow zipliner.
Kurinui
The main event! Your guide will explain the significance of Kurinui – a Maori word – before you take off from the deck, with awe-inspiring views of vineyards, beaches and the CBD ahead. At 220 and with the steepest gradient of all, you’ll zip along at over 50km (faster than you can legally drive on Waiheke’s roads!) Once you get to the landing deck, stand on the sheltered terrace and take photos of the rest of your group as they whistle in.
Forest Walk
Descending from Kurinui’s landing deck, exchange your birds-eye forest view for the cool, sun-dappled forest floor - home to geckos and skinks, weta, eels and even glow-worms. The ancient trees are a treasure-trove of stories and legend. Your guides will share Maori myths, and tell you how your visit helps EcoZip Adventures preserve and restore this beautiful and important Site of Environmental Significance.
